Mcfredrick Wins D-1 Race At Ashland Invite

The Ashland Invite Cross Country race was run Saturday at Freer Field in Ashland with the Arrows Leif Mcfredrick winning the Division I race with the days best time at 16:34.5. As a team the Ashland boys finished in second behind winner Strongsville. Mcfredrick's teammate Owen Smith was the next highest local finisher in 17:39.7

On the girls side in Division I, Ashland came in third with their top finisher Brook Duewel taking fifth in 20:44.3. In the Division II/III race Lexington's Zane Sturts was first in a time of 16:54.4, followed by Ontario's Brett Cortelletti in 17:00.7. Lex's Nick Stricklen was third in 17:03.1, with teammate Ryan Johnston fourth in 17:39.5. As a team the Lexington boys finished first with Mapleton second, Shelby third.

In the girls D-II/III race, Lady Lex's Dominique Clairmonte won the event in 18:54.8 followed by teammate Mackenna Curtis- Collins at 20:01.1. As a team Lady Lex won the team championship taking six of the top ten spots with Shelby finishing runner-up.
