Galion Sending Two Relay Teams to Columbus

The Galion Tigers will be sending both their boys and girls 4x100 meter relay teams to state competition on Friday with the hopes of having them advance to Saturday's finals. According to Galion head track coach Todd Roston, the boy's team of Jacob Fryer, Drake Barnett, Khnennter Hughes and Alex Armistad has been together for almost the entire season running 43.2 and finishing 4th at regionals. The girls team of Laura McElligott, Michaela Slone, Sydney Hunt and Clair Erlsten has been together just a few weeks but still won the Division II regionals in 49.2.

For Alex Armistad, this will be his second trip to Columbus. Last year the senior went solo in the long jump, but is hoping for a much better showing when he finished 15th out 16 long jumpers. Armistad has an area best jump of 22' 3 and three quarter inches to his credit this year. The Galion girls 4x100 will try to advance to Saturday's finals on Friday running at 2:50pm, the Tiger boys 4x100 will look to advance at 2:55pm. Armistad will be long jumping in the prelims and finals Friday morning at 9:30am.
