The Sportscar Vintage Racing Association will start off the 53rd season of racing at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington this weekend. Cars from 11 different groups with names like Porsche, Ferrari, Mustang, Corvette, Triumph, Trans-Am and Lola, just to name a few will be on the track.

President and CEO of the SVRA Tony Parella says the cars that race SVRA, must be set up according to the original manufactures specs. If it's a 1958 'vette it has to be just that it can not be modified with modern equipment. Parella also adds that Mid-Ohio is one of the tracks most looked forward to by the SVRA drivers saying you always have to be alert and focused, if not you could find yourself off in the grass. He also quick to add the track is one of the safest.

The SVRA will be making their 32nd consecutive appearance at Mid-Ohio with the feature marque for 2014 the Mini Cooper. The Mechanics Bank Vintage Grand Prix is the ninth of 13 race stops scheduled by the circuit.
