They may have a roster of just ten players, but the Mansfield Mudhens, a 14 and under baseball team made up of local players and coached by Jayson Stone continues to play against and beat some of the best competition in their age group as members of the Midwest Prospect League.

At 35-14, the Mudhens have just come back from winning the Cincinnati Summer Classic going 8-0 in the process. The tournament featured 64 teams, 47 from out of state. The Mudhens again this weekend will play in Michigan, then head to Tennessee next week.

The ten player roster consists of Cal Rickert and Jaycob Stone from Madison. Brennan Armstrong and Carter Brooks from Shelby. Thomas Staab and A.J. Blubaugh from Clear Fork. Ben Vore from Lexington, Ryan Lane from New London, Seth Bailey from Plymouth and Trey Williams from Hillsdale. Stone adds that he believes all of his players should be able to compete and earn a varsity baseball roster spot at their respective schools should they play in the spring.
