Women's Wellness Workshop Comes To Ashland YMCA In July

ASHLAND, OH- The 2019 Women's Wellness Workshop is coming to Ashland on Sunday, July 28.

The three hour long workshop will focus on ways that women can stay healthy, happy, and safe.

The night will start off with an hour long fitness class.  The class will feature body weight training, tabata, cycling, weight training, yoga, Zumba, and CrossFit led by seven fitness experts.  The workout will feature modifications for all levels.

Women can follow up their workout by enjoying a chef prepared healthy buffet.

Sixth degree blackbelt Steve McKay and USMC Sgt. Mackenzie Covey will then lead a women's self defense class where women will learn the basics of self defense in case of an emergency.

Acclaimed Chefs and Butchers, Melissa Khoury and Penny Barend, owners of Saucisson, a premier butcher shop in Cleveland, will then show attendees how to create delicious and nutritious meals while using local ingredients.  Khoury and Barend were featured on Andrew Zimmern's Travel Channel Food Destinations and History Channel's "The Butcher" as well as in Food & Wine Magazine.

To top off the night, prizes from over 30 local business, specifically designed for women, will be given out.  There will also be a meet and greet with the trainers and chefs who participated in the workshop.

 

The third annual workshop will run from 5-8pm at the Ashland Area YMCA located at 207 Miller Street.  Tickets cost $14. Interested parties can register at www.womenswellnessashland.com
