Some artists in Texas are bringing beauty to a normally boring, gray box and turning a city's intersections into art galleries. We introduce you to the person behind this new project. We all stop at different intersections. On the way to work, home, the store. But there's something different at the intersections in North Richland Hills. "You get something to look at besides a piece of sheet metal it's a little bit entertaining," says Roy Bobo, North Richland Hills resident. The city has taken these boring gray signal boxes and put some color on them. "It's an invitation to someone to stop and enjoy an area in our city," says Sarah Green, an artist. North Richland Hills has turned 15 boxes into canvases. "John Wayne is the quintessential Texas cowboy, says Sarah Green, who is behind the Hollywood cowboys series. "My family and I are from England and we thought when we moved to Texas we would automatically become cowboys," Green says. One of Green's more popular pieces features actor Yul Brynner. "And he looks like he's ready to be in a gunfight with somebody and people say they actually stop and have a stare off with him every morning," Green says. "It looks like each box is actually been painted on by hand but it hasn't been," says KTVT reporter Arezow Doost. "This is a wrap." Each piece costs $50-to-$100, depending on the artwork. And it's funded through donations to the city's art program. "If it beautifies somebody's commute which can be pretty rough in the North Texas area then yay, art is doing its job," Green says. Green says the city is looking for more artists and hoping to expand this outdoor art gallery.
