The Mansfield-Richland County Public Library debuted the Discover Tech exhibit over the weekend which showcased robots, Legos, and many other exhibits to expose children to the rapidly growing technology world.
"It's the opening reception for our Discover Tech Exhibit, and we have a lot happening," Jean Ruark, Communications Coordinator for the Mansfield-Richland County Public Library explained. "Discover Tech opened Wednesday and]it'll run through July 8. So, we have twelve weeks worth of programming, and today is the premier event. We have Stellar Robotics presenting, we have Jerry Frentzel, who's doing an Arduino board. We have augmented reality apps that our staff is demonstrating. And then we have the exhibit itself which is really quite wonderful. Lot's of things for families to do today."
Children and children at heart were encouraged to question and get hands-on with exhibits on display throughout the second floor of the library.
"We were one of eight library's who were awarded the exhibit," Ruark said. "We wrote a grant, and we were accepted. It's actually appearing in nine library's, but the first one was kind of a test run, so we were one of eight who got to host the exhibit."
The Discover Tech Exhibit will be on display at the Mansfield-Richland County Public Library through July 8.
