MANSFIELD, OH – The North Central State College Foundation hosted their 14th Annual Hall of Excellence induction Wednesday evening at the Kehoe Center in Shelby.

The foundation annually seeks nominations for possible induction into The North Central Ohio Hall of Excellence.

Nominations are requested for those who deserve recognition for their outstanding service to our community.

This year two men were inducted in the Hall Of Excellence, Robert L. Turner and David L. Williamson.

"These folks continually go above and beyond the call of duty and put their community interests ahead of their own," North Central State College President, Dorey Diab, says, "We try to celebrate that every year to encourage more and more of us to make our community a better place to live, work, and raise a family."

After graduating from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, Turner and his wife came to Shelby, OH. Turner has now been a funeral director in Shelby for over 30 years. He and his wife, Catherine, purchased the Dye-Hall Funeral Home in 1984. He has also served as a member of the local hospital board for more than 30 years.

Williamson graduated from Ball State University with a degree in radio and television with a minor in marketing. After working in New Orleans, Williamson returned to Ohio to state a radio station with a friend. That station became WSWR radio in Willard, Shelby, and Plymouth.

The induction event featured a dinner, followed by the induction ceremony. Chris Spielman was the guest speaker. Spielman played for Ohio State in college before moving on to the NFL.

He is also known for establishing The Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at the Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute at Ohio State.

He began these foundations in honor of his late wife, Stefanie.

More than $20 million dollars has been raised over the years for the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research and the Stefanie Spielman Patient Assist Fund.
