Robbery Suspect Takes Hostages At Ohio Taco Bell

COLUMBUS, OH - Columbus Police say a bank robbery suspect surrendered after taking hostages inside a nearby Taco Bell in North Columbus.

Police says the PNC Bank was robbed Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect had something that looked like an explosive device on him, as well as a gun when he committed the robbery.

The suspect went to a nearby apartment complex.

Police received a 9-1-1 call from someone that led them there to look for the suspect.

An officer fired at the suspect in the apartment's courtyard.

Police say the suspect was hit in the stomach and retreated into an apartment before leaving out a second-story window and ran to the Taco Bell.

The suspect held two-to-three employees hostage.

Eventually, the suspect released the hostages before being taken into custody.

The suspicious device worn by the suspect was found.

A bomb squad determined the device wasn't explosive,

The suspect was taken to Wexner Medical Center in an unknown condition.
