Patrol Investigates Marion County Fatal Hit-Skip

MARION, OH - A Marion man was killed when he lost control of the motorcycle he was riding around 4:45 a.m Thursday on State Route 203 at the intersection of State Route 95 in Marion County.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says 20-year-old Jacob R, Cannon was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The patrol says Cannon was driving southbound on State Route 203 when he lost control of the motorcycle, overturned and traveled through the intersection of State Route 95.

A preliminary evaluation of evidence from the scene indicates Cannon may have been struck by a motor vehicle which fled the scene after the initial crash.

Damage could be contained to the front of the vehicle.

At this time, no witnesses have been identified.

The crash remains under investigation and next of kin has been notified.
