COLUMBUS, OH - Judy Malinowski died in June two years after she was set on fire by her ex-boyfriend, Michael Slager.

Slager was sentenced to eleven years in prison in December of 2016.

Judy's two daughters joined state leaders at a ceremonial signing of "Judy's Law" on Thursday. The new legislation increases penalties by six years for anyone who uses an accelerant to permanently disfigure their victim.

Judy's Law will take effect later this month.
