Malabar School Staff Discover Lunch Box Filled With Bullets

MANSFIELD, OH - Around 7:30 AM Monday, Mansfield Police responded to Malabar Intermediate School after school officials reported finding a lunch box that contained ammunition.

According to a statement sent to Malabar Intermediate School parents by Superintendent Brian Garverick, the lunch box was discovered outside the school building. Police reports indicate that inside the wrestling-themed lunch box were 24 .40 caliber rounds.

A perimeter search was conducted, but nothing else was found. The property was submitted to the lab. Mansfield Police Department has indicated that there are no suspects at this time. Staff was advised about the incident before school started, and the school day proceeded normally without further interruption.
