MANSFIELD, OH - The 5th annual Shriners Chili and Wing Cook-Off took place Saturday between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m on the Miracle Mile, located on Park Avenue West.

The event's main purpose was to raise money for Al Koran Shriners Hospitals' Children's Transportation Fund. The Mansfield Shriners take it upon themselves to help provide transportation for children who may have trouble making it to hospital visits, especially those who may have to travel for multiple hospital visits throughout the year.

All funds raised during the Chili and Wing Cook-Off will be used locally. The Mansfield Shriners provide services to children with unique medical issues such as burns, orthopedics, cleft pallets, and spinal issues, regardless of a family's financial situation.

The Chili and Wing Cook-Off was packed with area businesses and restaurants who came to showcase their culinary talents for a good cause. The "People's Choice" award was given out based on which group collects the most donations at their table. In addition to great food, there was also great entertainment, with a full musical lineup throughout the night.

If you or someone you know has a child who could potentially benefit from the services that the Mansfield Shriners offer, feel free to contact Mike Miranda at 419-295-2586 or check out the Mansfield Shrine Club Facebook page.
