ASHLAND, OH - The Coburn Art Gallery on the Ashland University campus kicked off its Summer Art Camp today that will offer an intensive and creative one-week art session.

Instructor Jennifer Winkler says the Session 1 Art Camp is titled “Mythical Creatures and the Legends Behind Them,” and students will enter this magical world and learn about mythical creatures, and have the opportunity to create their own amazing artworks inspired by these animals.

Coburn Art Gallery Executive Director Sythia Petry says “They will develop a cultural appreciation and aesthetic awareness as they explore different art forms as well as developing their own talent for self-expression."

Students attending the week-long camp will learn how to use many art media and experience activities including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, and sculpture.
