Suspect Arrested, Charges Filed In Belcher Homicide Case

MANSFIELD, OH - The Richland County Prosecutors Office and the Mansfield Division of Police have provided an update on the Belcher's homicide investigation. 

Richland County Prosecutor Gary Bishop announced that charges have been filed in connection to the Belcher homicide. 

A complaint charging offenses in connection with this homicide was filed in Richland County Juvenile Court, after a long-term investigation conducted by the Mansfield police department. 

The identity and mug shot of the suspect were not released. 

A press conference with further details will be held at a future date.

Thomas Belcher, 52, was fatally shot in the early morning hours of August 28th at his residence on Fourth Ave. Mansfield Police report that the call came at 2:58 am, and the actual shooting is suspected to have occurred closer to 2:30 am. 

Numerous suspected illegal drugs were found at the scene, and drugs are being considered as a possible motive.

Belcher was the owner of Belcher's House of Rock on Orange Street in Mansfield.
