MANSFIELDThe Mansfield Shrine Club hosted its 43rd annual special needs children's picnic Thursday at the Richland County Fairgrounds.

Over 400 children from every school district in the county turned-out for hours of food and fun, including horse rides, tours of emergency response vehicles, a petting zoo and more.

They were also treated to wagon rides pulled by Clydesdale horses, golf cart rides, plenty of balloons, and a lunch.

The children who participate in the special needs picnic are in kindergarten through eighth grades, some having physical handicaps and others having learning disabilities.

The Mansfield Senior Tyger football team was on hand to volunteer their time to the cause and serve lunches.
