ASHLAND, OH - The Ashland County Historical Society's Candlelight Christmas Open House brought lots of holiday cheer to the historic Manor House on Sunday.

Chris Box, Executive Director of the Ashland County Historical Society, said decorations included 12 Christmas trees throughout the 1850's Manor House.

"All of our trees are decorated by garden clubs, floral shops, some of our volunteers decorate, and we have a quilters guild that also decorates," Box said. "We are every blessed with the efforts of all that come together to make this happen," Box said.

The open house also allows visitors to see a new painting by Marine Combat Artist, Robert Kent Halladay.

"We also are showcasing a painting that was donated to us and it's titled 'Going Home' and it shows a soldier in the wings of two angels," Box said.

Overall, the event was a great way to bring the Ashland community together during the holidays.

"We've hosted this event now for the community in the last 20-some years and it's an honor for us to do that," Box said.
