SHELBY, OH- The St. Baldrick's Foundation hosted their annual head-shaving event at Legends Sports Grill and Pub on Friday.

The event raised money to help fight childhood cancer according to event organizer, Pamela Costello.

"It's one of the largest fundraisers for childhood cancer research," Costello said.  "This is our thirteenth year, our tenth year here in Shelby, and everybody's coming out, and having fun, and shaving their heads, and raising lots of money for children's cancer."

The event brought out many supporters, both those looking to shave their heads and those just looking to donate money.

"It's wonderful.  We have people who this is their thirteenth year back shaving their heads as well as we have people who it's their very first year shaving their head," Costello said.  "So, we're thrilled with the turn out so far."

For Costello, the event has a special place in her heart.

"It's near and dear to my heart because I lost my son, Brandon, to cancer back in 2001, so it's very close to us," Costello said.  "I just want to thank everybody for their support and coming out year after year."
