MANSFIELD, OH - After several delays and months of hard work, the Mansfield YMCA introduced the community to its inclusive new Splash Park with a ribbon cutting on Tuesday afternoon.

The park officially opens on Saturday, May 25th, but patrons received a sneak preview at a ribbon cutting on Tuesday to celebrate the end of the project. Designed by Rain Drop Products, the park features fun learning opportunities for kids of all abilities. Some features are quiet for guests with sensory difficulties, others feature a variety of textures for a tactile learning experience. A braille map wall has been installed for blind and visually impaired guests. These are just a few of many ways the new park integrates fun with learning in an inclusive way.

This park has been 18 months in the making, and Mansfield Area YMCA President Cristen Gilbert says it was well worth the wait. Passes are included with a YMCA membership, although non-members are welcome to a one-day pass for a small fee.
