ONTARIO, OH - The Humane Society of Richland County has unveiled their new renovations in their facility, introducing a host of new improvements to the existing building. Director Missy Houghton spoke about the changes that were implemented.

"We have been looking for ways to offer more enrichment to our cats that are here at our facility," said Missy Houghton, Executive Director of the Humane Society of Richland County. "We actually obtained a grant from the Higher Family Foundation that enabled us to put portals in our current adoptable cat room. J&B Acousticals installed those portals and also made a wall and a door that blocked off our corridor, so now we have an expanded space for our cats that are free-roaming. It offers more outdoor stimulation. They have access to the windows, they can see the outdoors, and there's more fresh-air circulation. All in all, it's going to improve the environment for the animals while they're waiting for their forever homes."
