Truck Hits Buggy On U.S. 250 In Ashland

ASHLAND, OH- A pick-up truck hit an Amish buggy while traveling northbound on U.S. Route 250 Wednesday afternoon.

The crash occurred at approximately 12:35pm when 29-year old Jonas Miller was struck in the back of his Amish buggy by a Ford F-150.

The driver of the F-150 was 64-year old Floyd Poland.  Both men are from Savannah, Ohio. Ashland County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Kinter said, “Jonas was not transported to the Hospital, but Mr. Poland was.”

The horse sustained minor injuries.

Deputy Kinter further said, “Drugs and or Alcohol were not factors, and a seatbelt was in use at the time of the crash by Mr. Poland.” 

Mr. Poland was cited with Assured Clear Distance Ahead.

Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, Savannah Fire & EMS, and Nankin EMS were all on the scene.
