MANSFIELD, OH- Beginning on Thursday, The Mansfield Motor Speedway hosted "Dirt Million," a race which is included in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, for its second year in a row.

According the event's website, "Dirt Million" is one of the biggest dirt-track-racing events of the year, with the goal being the event's overall earnings to reach the $1 million mark.

The website, which proclaims that the event is "FOR THE INDUSTRY. BY THE INDUSTRY," takes aim at the Racing Industry in general with the goal of the event to show "mainstream" racing companies that the market for dirt racing is profitable and hungry for more. According to organizers, the event will "show the mainstream that (they) mean business."

Large crowds flocked to the Mansfield Speedway several nights in a row to see the events leading up to the penultimate 100-lap race on Saturday night. The final race will feature one lucky racer taking home the prize money after facing many challenges during the Dirt Million's three-day event.
