MANSFIELD, OH - Catalyst Life Services received a check that will go towards to completion of the new 16-bed Withdrawal Management Center and 16-Bed Residential Treatment Facility.

The Mid-Ohio AFL-CIO Labor Council presented a check worth $8,790.91. The money was raised during the Mid-Ohio Area AFL-CIO Golf Scramble held on June 14th, 2019.

The Richland County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board raised funds to build the new facilities through a State of Ohio Capital matching grant through the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Other funding for the project was received from the Richland County Foundation, S.N and Ada Ford Fund, and OhioHealth.

Treatment programs at the facility will be provided by Catalyst Life Services, with Third Street Family Health Services providing medical services through a subcontract.

"We are about halfway to our fundraising goal and appreciate the generosity given to us by the unions and for their help in planning this second annual golf outing," states Melissa Drozda, Marketing and Development Director of Catalyst Life Services. "We believe we will achieve our fundraising goal to be able to offer trauma informed environments for our clients while they recover."

The new facilities were built in order to address the current opioid epidemic and to bring these types of services back to Richland County.

"We have been working with the Richland County Mental Health & Recovery Services Board, local officials, hospitals, and the police department to expand the addiction services offered and to continue to provide quality services to those struggling with addiction." said Laura Montgomery, President & CEO of Catalyst Life Services. "We greatly appreciate the support this community has shown us and we could not do it without organizations such as the Mid-Ohio Area AFL-CIO and their generous donation towards furnishing for these new facilities."

If you are interested in supporting the project, you can call Melissa Drozda at 419-774-6710.

A ribbon cutting is planned for the new facilities on Friday, September 20th, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the New Beginnings Campus, located at 703 Scholl Road in Mansfield, Ohio.
