CRESTLINE, OH- The Crestline Historical Society and Museum celebrated their grand opening on Saturday.

The Historical Society was founded on November 17, 1947 and has been working to preserve Crestline history ever since.  Before moving into their 400 Scott Street location, the society was located in a historic 10 room house on North Thoman Street in Crestline.

Crestline Historical Society and Museum President, Judi Saurers, said that the new building makes the exhibits more functional and provides an updated space to display local artifacts.  Saurers said that knowing local, national, and world history helps citizens to make well educated decisions.

"You don't know where you're going if you don't know where you've been, and what we do today is tomorrow's history," Saurers said.  "That's why it's important, because everything we do relates to tomorrow."

At the Dedication Ceremony for the grand opening, Judi Saurers was honored for all of her hard work on the project.  Saurers said that it was a team effort and lots of people throughout the community helped the society to get the new building.

"It was committed people with talent that made all this happen, but we are just thrilled to death with this new opportunity," Saurers said.

The Crestline Historical Society and Museum is located at 400 Scott Street in Crestline.  The museum will be open the first and third weekend of every month from 2-4pm or by appointment.  Appointments can be made by calling 419-683-3410 or emailing the historical society at [email protected]
