A Greenwich man was killed Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle accident in Huron County.

The accident happened shortly before 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 224 and Ohio 13.

The Norwalk State Highway Patrol says James Sauers, 78, was pronounced dead after being taken to Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

The patrol says Sauers was driving west on U.S. 224 and failed to yield at a red light at the intersection. His car struck a pick-up truck driven north on Ohio 13 by Gregory Griffin, 39, of West Union.

Griffin was taken to Fisher-Titus Medical Center where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

The accident remains under investigation.
