An Ashland Elementary School Principal who was disciplined by the district in March has resigned his current position, effective immediately.

Tim Channel resigned at Montgomery School Principal in an email sent to Ashland Schools Superintendent Mark Robinson Tuesday night.

Channel was transferred to Montgomery from Osborn Elementary School in April after coming off of three weeks of indefinite paid administrative leave.

Former Montgomery Elementary School Principal Julie Petruna took Channel's position at Osborn Elementary and will remain there.

Channel said is his email to Robinson he enjoyed his time in the district but was leaving for personal reasons.

Ashland Schools Curriculum Directors Neil Gupta and Terri Jewett will serve at Montgomery in Channel's absence until a permanent substitute is found.
