The Richland County Commissioners Thursday opened bids for the Marion Avenue Road Safety Improvement Project.

Richland County Deputy Engineer Bob Cunning told the commissioners the project will improve the site distance d of a curve on Marion Avenue Road in Troy Township.

The commissioners received three bids for the project estimated to cost $170,671. Terra Valley Excavating in Bellville submitted the lowest bid of $128,215.

In other business, the commissioners opened three bids for the chip and seal of 43 miles of road in Richland County. The estimated cost for the project is $550,796.92. Lloyd, Porter and Porter of Edison, Ohio submitted a low bid of $420,317.65.
