The Ashland County Commissioners Thursday awarded Community Development Block Grant funding for the 2009 fiscal year.

Ashland County Planning Director Tim Cooper told the commissioners the county received $109,000 which will be used for three projects.

Cooper said $38,000 will to Loudonville for street repairs, $62,700 will go to Perrysville for the purchase of a new generator for the water treatment plant and $17,850 will go to Fair Housing.

In other business, the commissioners awarded the Ashland Wayne County Joint Board Log Jam Clearing Project Phase 4 contract to Quality Excavating for $70,550.
