For the second straight year, the public this past weekend has the rare opportunity to see and hear Native Americans drumming and singing in full authentic costume at the Historic Delaware Indian village site of Greentown. The event has been taking place for about a decade.

A group of more than 40 Ohio Munsee Delaware Native Americans brought their thundering Lenapi Drums to the former Greentown settlement, north of Perrysville in southern Ashland County.

The Delaware Indian Village of Greentown is a state designated historic site that dates back to the War of 1812 and beyond. The weekend gathering included live presentations, re-enactors, art pieces, crafts and wares and music, including songs played on homemade Lenapi Drums.
