Voter in Shelby has the opportunity Thursday night to meet the candidates running for township trustee, city council, board of education and mayor of Shelby.

Shelby Senior High School David Jones Little Theatre was the setting for the meet the candidates night. Social studies teacher Keith Weaver and his students hosted the two hour event.

Weaver said the key issue many residents are focused on is the mayor's race. Weaver said he hopes the forum encouraged his students to become more involved in politics and their community.
