Windfall Emanuel United Church of Christ at 1781 Biddle Rd. in Galion, continued its annual time honored tradition Tuesday of hosting an election day chili supper.

The supper which began more than 30 years ago attracts people from other surrounding counties and churches. Event organizer Lynda Wenzel said the supper started out as a fundraiser that the ladies guild did to raise money for their group at the church. She said it became very popular over the years and the church decided to host it on election day.

Wenzel said the supper featured chili, various soups, sandwiches and desserts. She said several years ago the church switched from charging A La Carte for items to just accepting donations for the supper. She said the church wanted to ensure that everyone who comes through the doors received a warm meal.
