The Lexington Local Schools  transportation department held a state mandated emergency evacuation drill Wednesday for K-12 students at the district's buildings.

Transportation director Robin Boggs said 24 buses were used for the drill. She said the mandated exercise is conducted annually. She said students learn what to do in case an emergency arises as their traveling on the bus.
