Arson is expected to be the cause of a fire that gutted an abandoned apartment building on South Diamond Street in Mansfield Sunday night.

Mansfield firefighters were called to the scene around 5:30 p.m. and billowing smoke could be seen coming from the two-story apartment building.

Investigators continue to look into an exact cause of the fire, which led to minor injuries to a couple of firefighters, one treated at the scene for a hand injury and another treated for heat-related injuries and taken to MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.
