Representatives from Rumpke Consolidate Companies Incorporated, conducted an interactive training Wednesday about accident investigations at the Richland County Sheriff's Office at 597 Park Ave. East in Mansfield.

Law enforcement officials, Rumpke employees and representatives from Milliron Industries, Metro Disposal and area school district transportation departments, participated in the eight hour safety training session.

Rumpke corporate safety director Larry Stone and corporate loss control manager Dan Katt conducted the training session which included small group activities, field exercises and lectures.

Stone said the safety training session focused on the reasons why accidents are investigated and Rumpke's commitment to safety. He said one of the primary reasons accidents are investigated is the potential for litigation and people must understand the process of preventing an accident from happening.

Stone said the session participants learned how to conduct interviews at an accident scene, draw field sketches, collect evidence and take at-scene photographs.

Stone said its important for Rumpke to present safety in a manner which shows the company is committed to keeping people safe.

Rumpke is a family owned and operated business. Rumpke currently operates in three states and has 2,500 employees. For more information about Rumpke visit www.rumpke.com.
