The Richland County Solid Waste Management Authority's 2010 budget will a have a small surplus of money according to executive director Joanne Mudra.

Mudra said budget cuts made over the last couple of years added to the additional money and allows the agency to provide funding for litter investigation programs at the Richland County Sheriff's Office and the Mansfield-Ontario-Richland County Health Department.

In other business, Mudra said the list of candidates for the executive director's position has been narrowed down to four. The retiring director said she hopes to have a new person in place by Dec. 9.
