It's been a rough economic year for county governments across north central Ohio, including in Ashland. But Ashland County Commissioners Mike Welch and Barb Queer say there's still much to be thankful for.

Welch said with revenues down and the layoffs of some employees, dedicated staff members should be given credit for continually working hard.

Queer said she's finishing up her first year as a commissioner and is thankful for the opportunity to serve the public and believes better days are ahead.

One of those very dedicated staff members happens to be Gail Crossen, who is the commissioners' clerk.
