The Tiro-Auburn Fire Department and Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department responded to a camper fire around 4 p.m. Monday at Auburn Lake Park near New Washington on Ohio 103 in Crawford County.

The camper belongs to John and Vanessa Schiefer of Bucyrus.  A witness riding a 4-wheeler saw the fire and reported it by calling 911.

When firefigthers arrived on the scene, the camper was fully engulfed in flames. Propane tanks near the camper were removed from the scene.  The camper was a total loss but was insured,

The cause of the fire appears to be electrical in nature but is still under investigation.
