The United Way of Richland County held its Pacesetter Campaign kickoff Wednesday at the Cafe on Main Street in downtown Mansfield.

United Way of Richland County Executive Director Skipp Allman said they know the need to get an early start this year and hope to raise 20 percent or more of their goal by September 1.

During the Pacesetter Campaign kickoff, local companies were recognized as well as agencies participating this year.  Allman said the needs never been greater.

The goal will be announced Wednesday, Aug. 11, at the Day of Caring event. Allman said they are in need of 100 volunteers from the community and local companies, to take part in the projects throughout the day.

For more information on how you can become a volunteer call the United Way of Richland County at 419-525-2816.  Or, log on to www.unitedwayofrichlandcounty.org.
