Mary E. "Bonnie" Dewalt, 80, of Galion, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born Jan. 15, 1929 in Urichsville, she was the daughter of the late Felix Pounds and Pauline (Hicks) Pounds. She was preceded in death on Dec. 19, 1990 by her husband, Chester Dewalt, whom she married on Aug. 7, 1949.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. In addition to being a homemaker, she formerly worked at North Electric and was a cook at the former L & K Restaurant in Galion.

Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Tona and Dana Frost of Lima and Paula Smith of Galion; three grandchildren, Angela Rae Smith, Nathan Alexander Frost and Bradley Eugene Frost; one great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Alexandra Kay Frost; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Frank and Linda Pounds of Mansfield and Bobby Dale and Carol Pounds of New Philadelphia, two half sisters and spouses, JoAnn Clouse of Uhrichsville and Doris Jean and Bob Miller of Colo.; one half brother, Larry Wayne and Sue Pounds of Troy and her feline companion, Hannah.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Pounds and Leonard Dean Pounds, one sister, Wanza Pounds; one half brother, Virgil Ray Pounds and her step-mother, Mildred Pounds

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
