Who do you know that routinely gets up at 2AM, yet refuses to touch coffee?  MIX 106.1 morning personality Tony Mitchell has been in radio since the fall of 1986, working at several great stations in Cleveland, Columbus, Elyria, Ashtabula, and Erie, Pa. before finally settling down at MIX 106.1 in 1995, doing the morning show with Chelley Kemper.  He has worked in a variety of music formats like Adult Contemporary, Top 40, R & B, Classic Rock, and even an “all-70’s” station.  Born and raised in the Cleveland suburbs, Tony is a BIG sports fan of the Indians, Cavaliers, and Browns (What true Clevelander isn't?).  Tony has been happily married to Shannon since 1994, and they have 2 wonderful children, Cory & Carli.

Outside the workplace, Tony’s interests include spending as much time with his children as possible.  His morning schedule allows him the opportunity to become involved in many things typical dads can’t do, like managing Cory’s little league team in the summer, and playing “Mr. Mom” until his wife gets home from work.  Tony also is active with many schools in the area and enjoys occasional volunteer work at his church, St. Peters.  In addition, Tony spends many enjoyable hours running his mobile DJ business, known as HITMAN ENTERTAINMENT. Tony is also a big fan of almost all kinds of music with one exception…country!  Aside from all that, he loves waking up North Central Ohio every weekday morning, despite the fact that he runs solely on “pure adrenaline”!
