2009-10 Rules

Welcome to the MedCentral College of Nursing - You Pick It Challenge and High School Scoreboard To Your Cell. You think you know High School basketball?  Well here is your chance to Pick your team and win! Top score each week is entered into the grand prize drawing at the end of the season which is a getaway to Splash Harbor and for basketball, the top winner each week will win a Tubing Pass to Snow Trails Winter Resort.  If we have a weekly tie, random winner will be picked.   

 How It Works

 The "MedCentral College of Nursing - You Pick It Challenge " is a Pick It Game of Local High School Football / Basketball.  Weekly you pick your winners of that weeks games selected by WMFD.com.  Picking opens each week on Mondays and all your picks have to be completed by the posted time on game night.  If you do not get your picks in on time, you do not get points that week. 

Scoring

Scoring works as follows.  For each match up, if you pick the winning team you get one point. If you pick the wrong winning team, you get ZERO points for that match up. 

If you pick the correct winning team, we then look at the actual scores.  For each correct team score you get another point.  For a total of up to THREE points if you get the game exactly right.

Now here is a bonus! If the game is a WMFD TV , WRGM AM  or WOHZ TV game of the week then is it double points for each one.  So if you get the score right (3 points) and it is a WMFD TV Game of the Week, you now have 6 points! (3 x 2 = 6).  Here is the real kicker, if it also a WRGM Game or WOHZ TV game you will get 12 points! (6 x 2 = 12). 

On game night you can come here and log in and watch your points grow.  As the scores come in you can refresh your picks page and see your score grow (or not grow)

We will then make the official scoring after all scores are in. 

Then at the end of the regular season we will take your TOP 5 WEEKS in score and add them together to make your final score.  This will allow players to join the action in weeks 1 thru 5 and still have a chance to win. Actually you could join on week 10 and win prizes or the grand prize.  If there is a tie, WMFD.com will pick the winner with a random drawing.  The weekly top score and the seasons winner will be entered into a drawing at the end of basketball for the grand prize. So you could sign up the last week of basketball, get the high score for the week, be entered in the drawing and win! All decisions made by WMFD.com are final. 

With basketball, the scoring starts over at zero and we will use your best 5 weeks score. 

Postponed or Canceled Games

If games are canceled or postponed for any reason and voting has been made on those games, the votes will be thrown out and final scores to those votes may not be posted.  Once a week is scored and winners announced, no additions will be made. All decisions are final. We reserve the right to make exceptions to the rules as we see fair.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to weekly winners based on availability.  Weekly winners will be announced in weekly emails and posted on this site.   The weekly winner and anyone that tied that score will be entered to win the grand prize at random drawing at the end of the season. You can sign up to play anytime during the season and still have a chance to win! No purchase necessary.  You may also enter by sending your name, address, birthday and phone number on a 3 x 5 card to You Pick It Challenge c/o WMFD TV, 2900 Park Ave W., Mansfield Ohio 44906.  All entries must be received by 2/28/2009.     By playing this game, you agree to the use of name, likeness and other personal information without further compensation and also agree entirely to the terms of use agreement of this site.  WMFD reserves the right to change/substitute prizes at anytime without notice.

Scoreboard to your Cell

Scoreboard to your cell is a free* system that will send final scores to your cell phone.  When you signup you pick the teams that you want their scores sent to you, then on game night as soon as we receive the score, we will send a message to your cell phone with the score.  Sample message would look like:

Final

Note that you will receive a text message for each game. So if you pick three teams and none of them play each other, you will get three text messages.  You may incur a charge from your cell phone provider for text message. Please check with your provider.
