MANSFIELD, OH - Mansfield's own Phoenix Brewing Company will be celebrating its five year anniversary with five days of special events, beginning on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2019.

The first event will be Tuesday's barrel-aged beer tasting in honor of the traditional five year anniversary theme, wood, which symbolizes strength and stability. The limited release barrel-aged beers including the Black Aggie Russian Imperial Stout and the Surly Gnome Winter Warmer, both aged in Buffalo Trace barrels, the Santa Muerte Spiced Imperial Chocolate Stout aged in tequila and the Orange Eyes pumpkin Ale aged in a rum barrel. These limited release beers will be available for the tasting on Tuesday, April 23rd and then again on Saturday in the Beer Garden. Spaces are limited and reservations are required for the tasting.

On Wednesday, April 24th at 3:00 PM the brewery will release 2 new beers to taps. According to Phoenix Brewery's anniversary announcement, "The Century IPA Batch 007, a Brut Style IPA, is brewed with Ekuanot, Loral and Mosaic hops. Batch 007 is pale, bone dry with an effervescent finish.  The second beer releasing to taps is the Dark Lylith Imperial Chocolate Stout infused with Orange and Vanilla. This variant uses the 2018 US Craft Beer Open Championship bronze medal winner, the Dark Lylith, and infuses it with loads of orange and vanilla for an incredible combination perfect any time."

The celebration continues Thursday with an off-site beer tasting at DLX Catering and Events in downtown Mansfield. The event is sponsored by Mansfield OH Networking and proceeds will benefit “The New Store” a non-profit benefitting Richland County Youth.

The beer garden officially opens for the season on Friday, April 26th with 4 additional taps available outside, Grant’s Guac and Roll Food Truck and live music from Charles Geil and His Ghost band on the patio starting at 8:00 PM.

The big bash will be Saturday, April 27th with doors opening at noon. Over 30 beers will be available inside and out in the Beer Garden. Included in the 30 plus beers on Saturday are flagship beers, seasonal favorites, limited editions, and one-off infusions. A limited amount of specialty bottles will also be released.  Live music begins at 2 PM. Avenue B featuring Sarah Blubaugh and local musical legend Paul Blubaugh will start the party off with some pure pop joy followed by Taylor Schlupp, a solo acoustic artist influenced by musicians like Paul McCartney, George Harrison, EVH and John Mayer at 5 PM.
