MIDDLEBURY TOWNSHIP, OH - Responders were dispatched around 5 p.m. Friday night to the 20000 block of Whitney Road for a report of a barn fire.

Due to the area's lack of hydrants as well as the size of the fire load in the barn, mutual-aid was immediately requested. Johnsville Fire Department assisted, as did Big Walnut Joint Fire District, Mt. Gilead, Jefferson Township, and College Township in Knox County. Fredericktown EMS was also on scene.

The barn held a large amount of supplies and produce materials for a greenhouse that the owner operated. The fire remains under investigation, but the structure and contents are a total loss.
