MANSFIELD, OH - Phoenix Brewing Company's father-son duo, Scott and Ian Cardwell recently added a new brew to the expansive Phoenix beer portfolio.

Scott Cardwell, co-owner of Phoenix Brewing Company, and his son Ian Cardwell, assistant brewer, began a process in the late summer of 2017 to create a beer that represents their families history.

Called the "Firth of Clyde" the brew is a nod to their Celtic heritage bringing 4 generations of Cardwells. The special beer will be officially released on Fathers Day this Sunday at the Phoenix Brewing Company. .

Plans for the beer started when a customer suggested that both Scott and Ian should brew a beer together. Scott says that the beer is very important to them and that it represents the bond between a father and his son, and represents the generations before them.

"It was a blast to brew with my son for the first time and to also have my father stop in to lend a hand." Scott Cardwell said. "I am very proud of what Ian has accomplished here under Duncan's instruction. Ian now does most the brewing on our 5 BBL pilot system."

The Firth of Clyde is dark amber, malty, and with notes of caramel and has a very low hop presence.
