80 Year Old Woman Life-Flighted After Accident On Possum Run

MANSFIELD, OH - The Ohio State Highway Patrol Mansfield Post responded to a one-vehicle accident that occurred at 11:35 AM Tuesday on Possum Run Road south of Snow Trails. 

According to Trooper Ryan Davenport of the Mansfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Nancy Howell, 80, of Perrysville was driving eastbound on Possum Run Road where she lost control and went off the left side of the roadway. Her vehicle struck a telephone pole and then overturned, where she was then trapped in the vehicle. 

Worthington Township Fire and Washington Township Fire had to be called in order to extract her from the vehicle. 

The female was then life-flighted to Grant Medical Center in Columbus with severe injuries.

It is unclear what caused Howell to travel off the roadway at this time, but investigators did notice there were no tire marks and no evidence of braking.
