CRAWFORD COUNTY, OH - The Crawford County Sherriff's Office states that recent information regarding a potential threat to Crawford County schools is not believed to be intended for Crawford County, Ohio.

After information was received by the Crawford County Sheriff's Office regarding a potential threat to an unidentified school district in Crawford County, authorities immediately took action and contacted local law enforcement and the FBI.

After research was done, it was found that the potential threat was intended for Crawford County of Georgia, not Crawford County of Ohio.

"After discussions with the FBI and law enforcement in Georgia, we have determined that the information was meant for law enforcement in Crawford County, Georgia and not Crawford County, Ohio," Crawford County Sheriff Scott Kent said. "Our office, along with local police departments, take the safety of all our children seriously and have been working with the school districts to ensure the safety and security of all students and staff in Crawford County."
