MANSFIELD, OH - 68-year-old Robert Zook of Mansfield managed a successful emergency landing at Lahm Air Force Base Tuesday afternoon when his plane's landing gear failed to open, allowing every passenger to walk away without any injuries.

Zook was piloting a 1980 Beech Model 58 fixed wing multi-engine plane with four passengers: Angela Phillips, Chad Deskins, Sydney Deskins, and Ralph Deskins, all from Middletown, Ohio. When the plane's landing gear failed to open, Zook executed a successful emergency landing without incident. None of the passengers reported any injuries upon landing.

Ohio Air National Guard Fire Department and EMS and Mansfield Police Department assisted on scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Mansfield Post, and alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor.
