ONTARIO, OH - Hope is an adult female mixed breed dog available for adoption at the Humane Society of Richland County in Ontario. She is the Pet Of The Week!

Hope had a rough 2018 and you can do your part to help make her 2019 the best year ever. Hope was allegedly found in a dumpster in December. She was emaciated, had a terrible skin infection and a large mammary tumor. Since then, her skin has cleared up, her hair is growing back, she has had her tumor removed and has been declared free of cancer and has been spayed. She's made long strides in the journey back to health. The last part of her story is hopefully you.

Hope will be available for adoption in two weeks after she recovers from her operation, and she is ready for a forever home. She needs to be worked with a bit on her manners. She is very vocal and communitive and doesn't mind cats or other dogs. She loves treats and scratches and may suffer from lingering skin problems but with a little TLC, she should get through just fine. She would do best in a large home where she has room to burn up some of her energy. She is very friendly and very social and would do well with people of any age.

The Humane Society of Richland County is located at 3025 Park Avenue West in Ontario and is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from Noon to 5:00 PM and also Thursdays from Noon to 7:00 PM. Go visit Hope and apply to adopt her or one of many animals available for adoption or fostering. If you can't adopt at this time you can still contribute by donating pet food, toys, leashes, litter, or time to HSRC or your local Humane Society.
