MARION - A Marion man is in jail after firing a gun at a woman and her friend following a domestic dispute Tuesday.

On Tuesday, February 12th, Marion City Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of 510 Grant Street in Marion after reports of a shooting.

After an investigation, it was determined that Kenneth Morgan, aged 77, had been in a domestic dispute with the female victim and her friend. Details of that dispute are not available at this time, but the result was the victim and her friend escaping the house and fleeing on foot. Once the two had escaped the home, Morgan followed them outside and began shooting at the victim as she ran from the property.

When officers arrived to investigate, Morgan was taken into custody without incident and was found to still be in possession of the firearm. Formal charges will be filed after the Marion County Prosecutor's Office has a chance to review the case.

None of the involved parties or first responders were hurt during this incident. The incident is still under investigation.

Check back for more details as they are made public.
