ONTARIO, OH - Haring Realty's Richlandopoly returned to Richland Mall on Friday for its second year as part of the United Way of Richland County’s Dash for the Goal.

Haring Realty presented a live action, life-sized localized Monopoly game called "Richlandopoly". The game's board measured 20 feet on all sides and was played with 2-foot by 2-foot by 2-foot dice in the middle of Richland Mall's center court.

Eight area businesses and nonprofits competed using custom team tokens, playing pieces, props, and currency. A number of other businesses also got involved, sponsoring properties along the game board.

Hamilton Insurance, Richland Bank, The Ohio State Reformatory, Southern Title, Schmidt Security, Warren Rupp, Richland Source, and Mechanics Bank competed for the title of Richlandopoly champions.

Last year, in the events first edition, over $8000 was raised for the United Way. This year, Haring and the more than 35 involved local businesses, hope to significantly increase the amount raised. Also, new this year was an audience participation element and prizes for community members who got involved. The event ran from 11am to 1pm. They reached the goal of beating last year, raising $11,235 during the event.
